One Bless'ed Day

This weekend the stars aligned and we had Joseph Maverick Munion's baby blessing on Sunday! His adorable white baby suit that Mom made for him arrived on Thursday and Joseph Hyrum Smith of Texas, who we named our son after, arrived on Saturday. So at the ripe old age of 7 weeks, our lil' Joe was given a name and a blessing in church by his very attractive father. (For more info on LDS baby blessings, click here ).  The blessing was beautiful and my mother's heart just about burst thinking of the great life Joe has ahead of him. It was inspiring to hear Joseph blessed that he would remember the "faith and humility of those who came before him" because of the name that was chosen for him, that he would have willingness to learn and that he would know love and be able to love everyone that he came in contact with, and there was more about him serving a mission and getting married. Made me flash-forward to being a grandmother, for heaven's sake! I got a little teary. Out of joy, of course. :) Joy for the circle of life and for fantastic babies that turn into fantastic people who will one day move mountains.(Mountains were not specified in the blessing, just in my doting heart). Joe enjoyed the blessing as well - he listened with the greatest decorum and good will ever displayed by a baby. It wasn't till time to take pictures that he started getting fussy but never mind, he behaved for the important part.
Also in attendance were our Utah family, Don and Suzette and the boys, as well as my good friend and college roommate, Allison. We always miss our other family that can't make the long trip to these events, but you should know you are never far from our thoughts!
Dave's so proud. As he should be - have you met these kids? They. Are. Ah-mazing.
Riley is also wearing one of Mom's creations. Gosh, I need to learn to sew!
It's nice to be able to bless generations with your talents.
I think our lil' Joe looks regal here. And Riley, fed up!
Loved his outfit, especially the little vest. It was an impressive feat, Mom! Thank you!!
We love our Joe! Last night Joseph Smith told me that nothing in his life had brought him more happiness than his wife and children. I think that about sums it up: family is the best!
